July 1-3, 2024 – WARDFlex® employees suited up during the first week of July 2024 to participate in a “highway clean-up” day, organized by the team themselves, as part of their ongoing 14001 improvement program.
The 14001 improvement program, is part of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) environmental management certification that both Ward Manufacturing, LLC (“Ward”) and WARDFlex® are accredited. This improvement program requires the company and employees to perform environmental activities throughout the year. Ruby Driebelbies, WARDFlex® plant manager, states “we felt collecting and disposing of the trash, recycling what we could, for key areas that affected our community youth and families was a good place to start.”
Over the course of 3 days, the WARDFlex® crew picked up trash at the WARDFlex® property, Tioga and Wellsboro Little League Fields, Hamilton Lake Parking area, boat launch and pull-off area, Nessmuk Lake Boat Launch, picnic and DCNR area, and a 2-mile stretch of Ives Run 287 RT. Altogether, 27 bags of garbage and 1 bag of recycling were collected by this group and disposed of properly.
Thank you to all the employees who participated in this event to clean up the environment we all share! Click
